crab linguine

Ever tried crab linguine? If not, then it’s about time.

You’ve been missing out.

The sweet taste and delicate texture of crab meat make it the perfect ingredient for various recipes, from the simplest to most elevated. Though, it feels particularly at home amongst the heartwarming flavors of Italian cuisine. Indeed, for an ingredient that hides behind a hard shell in cold and unforgiving habitats, crab meat is surprisingly suave and comforting.

So, if you are in need of a bit of comfort food to get you through the day but still want to keep your diet balanced and healthy, you’ve landed on the right page.

This crab linguine recipe is quick and straightforward but feels incredibly sophisticated nonetheless. So, it can easily take on the shape of a feel-good dish for a snuggly night-in or that of a fancy dinner in case you need to impress your other half.

Ingredients

  • 250 g Pasta (Use Linguine, Spaghetti or Bucatini)
  • 2 Crab shells (white meat)
  • 2 Red Chili Peppers with medium heat
  • 5 cloves of Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of caper
  • 3 tablespoons of finely chopped parsley
  • 1 lime (the juice)
  • 2dl Extra Virgin Olive Oil (almost 1 cup)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Tip: Cooking this dish takes almost literally a blink of an eye. Prepare all your ingredients before you start the cooking process. It will help you stay in control and avoid overcooking or burning anything.

Cooking Instructions

  • Add the chilli peppers, garlic, lime juice and half of the olive oil in a blender and blend until you have a smooth paste.
  • Once done, transfer the paste to a mixing bowl
  • Add chopped capers, most of the parsley (but not all if it!), crab meat and the rest of the olive oil. Them, add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Bring a large pot of water to boil, then add salt and the linguine. Give it a good stir and boil the pasta for 1 min less than the time indicated on the packaging. Stir well occasionally, so it doesn’t stick.
  • Drain the pasta and add about half of the prepared crab mixture. Make sure to mix it in well and coat all of the pasta. Leave the rest of the paste for topping.
  • Serve the pasta on a plate—for an elegant effect, twirl the pasta in a ladle using a carving fork to create a cute little nest and then slide it gently on a plate. Top it with the remaining crab mixture sprinkling some freshly chopped parsley and voilà!

That’s all there is to making crab linguine—healthy and fulfilling food that breathes both comfort and elegance in just five quick steps.
